To play the clips sequence on Windows download Media Player Classic ( http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/guliverkli/mpc2kxp6490.zip?download ) and FFDshow ( http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ffdshow-tryout/FFdshow-Tryouts-20060921-rev215-sse2.exe?download for P4 and above systems). Both are open-source pieces of software. You might need an Intel Core Duo or equivalent system to play.
The clips were captured on an HDR-HC1 and imported using mpg1394grab. It was put together and rendered via cinelerra, deinterlaced with transcode, and encoded into an H.264 video stream using x264. The whole tool-chain was run from within Cinelerra CV (http://cvs.cinelerra.org/) using its yuv4mpeg pipe output feature to generate the final H.264 stream in 3 passes(to increase the PSNR). Audio was finally multiplexed in using mkvmerge of mkvtoolnix. All the aforementioned processing was on an Intel PC running the Gentoo distribution of Linux.
